Republican Platform

Are we watching the policies, or listening to the hype?

So far, the republicans and the Democrats have shown some of their true colors. As have the T-Partiers. It is difficult to believe.
What is totally odd, is that apparently the Republican voter wants their representatives to :

A- restrict rights of women ( according to Governor Rick Perry of Texas, this is an emergency legislation, to be acted on before jobs bills can be considered)

B- bust up the unions ( a matter of budgetary concern, according to Governor Wilson of Wisconsin, and, apparently all of the Republican officeholders in Wisconsin. Which, for some unfathomable reason were voted in. This was a budgetary concern, until the Democrats refused to participate in the vote. Then it was decided in order to strip people of their constitutional rights, it ‘became’ non-budgetary. And was passed anyway. That is Real representation. Congratulations on your apparently voted in representation, Wisconsin.)

C- Create a health care system that will allow you to become sick - but within limits. Via the ‘voucher system” you get so many vouchers to pay a PRIVATE Insurance company for insurance. Any price they want to charge you after that, you pay for. (This will help to weed out the very sickly, and very poor. They will not have any access to medical treatment, so they will most likely die. The thought behind this? If you are not wealthy enough to buy insurance, and too sick to work, you should die and take the burden of your poor, sick self off society. In this case, the society of the well to do.)

D- Cut funding for the schools. This is related to B. We can save oodles of money by only partially funding our schools. After all, if you educate the populace to much, they may just realize that they have an absolute right to vote, to choose what they want done with their money the government has collected from them in the form of taxes and fees. We have a right to have a say in how they spend our money, whether it is stuck in a “rainy day” Fund or in the Governors personal ‘stimulus fund’ that no one can look at or audit. Or is it just Governor Rick Perry of Texas that has his own, personal, hands off slush fund while the state of Texas is 27 billion in debt?

E-Do away with unemployment insurance - if you are without a job, you should not just stay at home sucking up that fabulous unemployment insurance. After all, it pays about 2/3 of what you got at your regular job. If you really want a job, you can always get one at the local greasy spoon. If you cannot cook, wait tables or wash dishes (for less than min wage. Often these jobs go to illegal’s who get paid under the table. That’s totally good for our country, huh?) not to worry. Aluminum is being bought for 23cents a pound. Pick up cans.

F- Do away with rights to unimpeded travel. - don’t even mention the airlines, even driving down the road, you are subject to be stopped at any time and asked for your drivers license, registration, proof of insurance. Then you are grilled about where you are going, where you have been, and why. After which you are interrogated about the possibilities of your hauling meth, or coke, or some other sort of narcotic. When you assure the police officer that no, indeed you are not, you are then asked if it is alright for them to search your car. This is after they have- looked through the back window, the side window, the drivers window, and more than likely, stuck their head in to look around. Just what kind of search do they need to be doing? How bad are the American people, anyway? If you happen to know your rights, which everyone should, but many do not ( see item D) and tell them no way, they proceed to detain you and send for a doggy officer to search anyway. Where do you see a problem with this? After all, it is called being ‘tough’ on crime.
G- Believe that waterboarding and other tortures are not torture if they use them. They also mistakenly believe that valuable information is gleaned by this tactic, despite a multitude of evidence it does not.

H Lower tax rates for corporations and the wealthy.

E Keep giving subsidies to companies that are profiting billions and billions of dollars a year off of the American People.

Need more? With these people in office, there is surely more to come.
