How does building a pipeline across some our most vulnerable areas in the USA, carrying some of the dirtiest oil, to the refineries and selling it on the global market to the highest bidder improve our energy independence?
How can there be any justification of putting our watershed at risk to these companies whom have proven over and over they are irresponsible and incapable of safely providing oil on land or on the oceans?
Why would we even desire to stay with the 100+ year old energy system when we have so many alternatives?
Even Ex-Pres Bill Clinton will tell you, and HAS told you that just wind power from North Dakota would provide twenty-five percent of our nations energy needs. Why in the world would we want to destroy our world for the profit of a few gas compainies?
If you say this is a job creator, you could be right. It probably would create around 5,000 temporary jobs.
Maybe more with the security it would require to keep sabotuers at bay, and cleanup crews to try to contain the ineventable spills and leakage which will nevertheless pollute our groundwater. Leaving millions of people without clean water to drink, irrigate Your food crops, and water livestock that is also food.
In whose universe does this make sense?
In the same universe that improving our infrastructure, creating an energy grid to carry the vast untapped natural, renewable resources through out our nation to power the homes, businesses and vehicles that we all ready have the technology for?
Who is in favor of this destroying form of energy? Who will profit from it? Who wants the pipeline?
Who is trying to destroy our earth, home of all of us?
Anyone say Big Oil, Big Gas, Drill, baby Drill -- Spill, baby,Spill??
Who are your representatives voting for? Whom do they represent?
Not ME.

#Wisconsin #Union vs. #GOP?
As it turns out, this is not really about Wisconsin, not especially about the Unions, either. This is about the control of the working population in the United States of America.
The land of the free…it appears is only free when you are very rich.
A lot of people look down on the union, blaming unions for making prices higher, for the manufacturing to move overseas to seek cheaper workers. It would seem that many people do not understand that if someone doesn’t stand up for the working people, especially unions, all people who work and earn any wage at all are at risk. The reason you have a living wage now is not because of the companies good heart, not because management saw that you and your children had to work sixteen hours a day for food and shelter, not because they did not know.
The companies do not care. The company is only in business to make profit, if it comes at the expense of your life, too bad, so sad, there are more starving people where you come from.
The company does not even care if it is making profit. It want to make more, companies are greedy by their very nature. If they can make a penny more off you, they do not care if you go without heat. Companies have no conscience.
The only way to keep companies and corporations from exploiting all peoples is to be united. The only way to fight money is to overpower it with people. The only way to secure your rights, what few we have left, is to protest, to strike, to stop work. If you want that to be successful, you must get more than one person or two involved. You must have thousands. Hence, a union to protect peoples rights.
Why have we let the powers that be in power? How could have so many so-called sane people voted for them? I know in our case, we did not. But the voting machines say we do. The machines were proven to be rigged before, what would make Americans believe it hasn’t been so again.. What they got by with once, they will attempt to do so again. These are the people that are running and ruining our lives.
What is absolutely amazing is that so many people are still so stupid that they believe what these paid mercenaries are telling them. Rather like the old adage, if you tell someone something long enough, and with enough emphasis, they will believe you, even when it is patently obvious it is against their own best interests.
Well, we had traitors in the Revolutionary war that sided with England. Now, we have traitors in the civil war with the Rich Autocrats, would be dictators who are well on their way.
It started with Reagan, and continues to this day.
When are Americans going to wise up and say no more?

Tobbacco Road
Lately all the rage has been to tax cigarette smokers. Not just tax, but forbid them to smoke in bars, cafes, public parks, public buildings, private shops, basically anywhere. Why?
Second hand smoke.
Second hand smoke must be pretty bad when you cannot smoke outdoors.
Scientists and other people who are on the bandwagon will tout the latest figures of asthma and other respiratory illnesses and scream "It's second hand smoke"
Oddly enough, people who lived and worked in a non=smoking environment had as much problem with these illnesses also.
As a matter of fact, over the last thirty years or so all kinds of respiratory illnesses have been going up.
Maybe we should find another explanation than making smokers the goat. Maybe we might check out all the pollution the coal burners keep belching into the air. Maybe we should check out how much the emissions from a gas engine has on breathing. How about some scientists locking themselves into a garage, starting an engine and seeing if they have a problem breathing?
I'll wait outside and smoke a cigarette.
Back to the issue of smoking.
It is bad for you, that is what they say. (the politicians, etc.)
If this is so, why tax the heck out of smokers? Why not change the way that cigarettes are made?
We can easily engineer tobacco that is both not harmful and not addictive.
So what's the problem?
With all the subsidies we give to the tobacco industry, it seems like they should have researched and developed a gentler, kinder smoke that would not kill you.
This is our fault?
If a person wants to smoke, they should be able to.
If you don't like it, call your congressman and tell them to force the tobacco industry to come up with a better alternative.
Or, you could just tell your congressman to donate the money they procured from the tobacco companies to push for deregulation (tobacco is not regulated under any government agency) to the tobacco smokers health fund, and we won't have to worry about taxing the smokers, who are the victims of the tobacco companies and all the 'goody two shoe' second hand whiners.
