So you want to cut spending.
You don't want to raise taxes on the rich, who have been paying the lowest taxes probably in history. So be it.
Where would you cut spending first?
How about starting with the Congress and Senate, as they are a large part of the reason we are in this mess?
Lets cut their salaries to a dollar a year, and they really do not need the Cadillac health plans the tax payers spring for. Why do they have luxury cars? They should be in electric zip-cars. They don't need all that much space for a Blackberry and, perhaps a briefcase.

They are provided with room and board. What do they need with mansions??? How many Senators and Congressmen hold government 'dos' at their house? Why would they? An apartment should be adequate for these mis-users of our moneys.
Why in the world are we paying for their massages, their Fancy lunches, their chefs and servants.
Who decided if you got elected for Congress or the Senate, that you have automatically hit the jackpot?
This may not go to far in helping our deficit....or would it?
Let's see... there are 100 Senators and 435 members of Congress. That's a lot of people. Plus their pages, aides, speech writers, and all the other ensembles they believe they need.
I think that the Senators and Congressmen (I include Congresswomen) don't need to be out dining and wineing...they do not have the time, especially at our expense.
When Congressmen and Senators simply do not have time to read a 1,000 page, triple spaced, large print document in over a year, they have no time to party, fly to visit other countries, go to strip clubs, be entertained by lobbyists, or any of that good stuff we end up paying for.
The complaints about having to read the Health care bill just boggled my mind.
Do the people we elect to our government have reading impediments? are the just literately challenged? Can they read? Where did they graduate? did they not have to read there? Was it just an Honorary graduation?
When the people we send to Congress and the Senate cannot manage to read what really amounts to a 250 page report, we need to fire a bunch of them.
That's what happened last election, problem was, we fired the wrong ones.
We fired a lot of the ones that actually read the health care bill, the ones that actually did do their homework, that did do the job (or tried to) that we sent them to Washington for.
But the media didn't like those people, so they told the people of America ( so they wouldn't have to read the actual bill online) what was in the health care bill. Unfortunately, they are hired by the very people that do not want the status quo upset by reality. They don't mind upsetting you with their lies, tho.
What is also mind boggling is that the media believes Americans are so stupid that they will believe anything that is on Cable News. Even after it is proven, proven....yes PROVEN that they lie.
When are we going to demand that Congress and the Senate get their act together and do what is right for the regular people of America. All this talk about The American People want this or that...I am an American person, they never asked me what I wanted...How about you?
Actually, most of the Congressmen and Senators could probably bunk in the White House. Looks to me like they have plenty of rooms. Why, they have rooms there that no one has been in in over a hundred years. It would do them good to be dusted out, and as it seems Congress and Senate are setting there dusting, good place for them.
But I digress...Back to the cuts.
Ok...now, subsidies.
We subsidize oil companies, pharmaceutical companies, mega farmers, tobacco farmers, Countries all over the world, including ones who absolutely do not like us.
There are some savings there.
How about the prisons..we could cut some costs there by letting out all the non violent criminals who are there for smoking a joint, or carrying a little bit of pot on them. Or dead-beat dads that are taking up jail space.
That would save several billions of dollars.
I do believe we have forgotten about windfall taxes, also. With companies making record profits from our pain, these should be subject to a windfall tax, these extraordinary profits amount to price gouging of the public.
Speaking of windfalls.... How about AIG, Goldman Sachs and the rest of them that are giving out huge million dollar bonuses? Why would that not be considered a windfall? I would think it a windfall if I got a million dollar bonus for doing my job.
I expect that these items alone could drastically reduce a goodly part of our deficit without touching the entitlement programs that people just scraping by are depending on.
How many people have to starve?
How many have to die?
When will the Congress and Senate do the job we sent them to Washington to do?
