What happened to the people who were not afraid to protest?
In the 60s, you could find protests around every corner. Mostly protesting the war, it is true, however there were numerous other protests, also.
Now it would seem people are to afraid to protest.
Why not?
Firstly, it would seem that most people are not that anxious to go to jail.
Secondly, it would seem that many people are afraid of repercussions if they protest something that the government odes not wish to be noticed.
Thirdly, we have been told and told we are free. So what on earth is wrong with us? Why would we want to protest? We have the best living conditions in the world....at least that is what they would have you believe. What have Americans become?
A nation of whiners?
That is what at least one pundit would have you believe. Of course, he is setting on the news getting paid good bucks to run his mouth and run us down. It would be a pretty safe bet that he has, among other things, an IRA, a KEHO and pretty good money invested in various stocks and bonds. In other words, he is not hurting.
How long would it take for him to start complaining if he became homeless, moneyless, and friendless (although, I would not think a jackass like this would have many friends).
However, I digress.
Why is it that people in general will not protest until it becomes so obvious, so painful that they just can't stand it anymore. Why not protest when you first see the inequality happening?
Why wait until the opposition is set and protected and law-ed in?
America was founded on protests.
Not by the rich, but by the poor do we owe our county.
