It is hard to fathom why the Nevada rancher has people defending him.
He has mooched off of the American taxpayer for over 20 years. Feeding his cattle, for his own profits for free.
How many landlords would allow their tenants to occupy their property without rent for 20 years?
My guess is none.
Yet here we have people, with guns no less yelling that this person has a right to occupy and use our precious natural resources rent free, and obligation free. Not only for his own profit, but to the destruction of our park for future generations.
They have found an endangered species on this land. It is a tortoise, to be sure it may be something that is not as cute or cuddly as one would like, however it is endangered.
The rancher is not an endangered species. There are more than enough of them. His herd will not affect world meat supplies. The demise of his herd will not affect beef prices.
He has mooched off of the taxpayers long enough, it is time for him to pay up and get off our land.
Where were all these gun toting do gooders when people were thrown out of their homes by the corporations? That is where they should have been protesting. Not for this greedy rancher that is, in fact taking advantage of every taxpayer in the nation.
