Having been a watcher of the news media, both online and on television, for the last few years, I have come to realize there are such a lot of issues in our country, it is sort of difficult to settle to writing about just one.
Even for a single blog, one issue invariably evolves, or devolves into another, and another.
For instance, in Arizona we have an unbalanced young American who took potshots at a Democratic gathering, around the same time, we have a non profit organization in California that is making real progress treating the same type of illness this person had.
Congrats to the California initiative to help our young people.
Now, for the ironic, mind boggle.
In Arizona, the Republican Governor wants to cut their medical care so much that several dozens of people cannot receive transplants. In effect, the Republican led government of Arizona is murdering these people.
At the same time, in California, the government wants to raid the fund that is set up for the non profit group that is actually doing a great job helping people cope with the illnesses that society has caused.
What are we to gather from this? What thought processes are going on here?
Can you see where these facts might just get carried on out to their logical conclusion.
If we carry on with the Arizona issue, the young, ill man will at a very minimum be in the institution of prison for the rest of his life. Because of a treatable illness. Will he get any treatment there? Only the very minimal, if any at all. Is our system broken? What do you think?
Should we decide to carry out the California issue, the funding will be raided to pay for the Republican led deficit of the last decades. With the funding cut, the non profit will not be able to treat as many young people. When fewer young people are treated for this very common illness, the likelihood of an incident such as the one that happened in Arizona is more likely to occur.
This is the vein in which we have run the last couple of decades of republican rule. Is this how we wish to continue?
Do we want our children frightened out of their minds? With no one to turn to? So afraid their subconscious creates another person within them to try and deal with the perceived fears of the world? Frightened for their lives, their health, their families, their sanity?
We have been told “ Be afraid, be very afraid” for so long, our children must be absorbing the message in utero.
What are we doing?
What happened to “ The only thing to fear …is FEAR itself!”
What has happened to America?
It boggles the mind.
Ant this is just one of the many, many topics in just one day. With all that is happening in this world, guess it will take more than one post a day. Maybe I will figure out how to tweet on tweeter, then I can float suggestions/comments as I go.
