Unbelievably, John Boehner wants to raid Social Security.
This should not really surprise anyone. The Republicans have been whining about Social Security every since it was put in. Unfortunately for them, it has been fairly well off limits.
Fortunately for those of us who are counting on SS for future retirement benefits, it has been protected fairly well by the Democrats.
One of the main reasons Social Security is protected is because it is in the black.
WHAT! In the BLACK?
Then what is all this malarkey about trying to 'fix' it?
Why all the fol-de-rol about how much it is costing the Gov?
Shuck and Jive.
Social Security is funded by the taxpayers for the taxpayers and is currently in the black to the tune of about 2 billion or so.
Then why is it we hear so much about 'reforming' social security?
Because it is the one program that the Republicans have not been able to get at. I am not saying that all of the savings we have put in over the years, even upped it a bit to take care of the baby boomers, for awhile.
I am sure there are a healthy amount of IOU's in with the savings. Hopefully that is not all that is there.
A few years ago, the Republicans were all set to privatize social security, so 'it could make more money' by investing in the stock market instead of safe bonds.
Aren't you glad the Democrats defeated that little scheme?
Now, with unemployment rampet, the Republicans, in their child-like wisdom, want to raise the retirement age. What a STUPID, STUPID thing to even THINK about, let alone allow someone else to know you are thinking it.
It seems that if we raise the retirement age, we won't have to pay retirement benefits so soon.
Never mind it would throw millions of people who are ready to retire back on the workforce when we do not have enough employment for the young people who are coming out of colleges and high schools. Don;t worry about them, they can shovel snow off the walks....
No, wait...that is what we have the illegals for. To do the jobs that only the young, old and middle aged Americans would do if they could get anywhere near a decent paycheck.
Oh, wait a minute again... we can't have the older Americans keep their jobs, they do not have the skills the younger people just out of college do....and the kids work cheaper. So, lets fire the older Americans who were ready for retirement, they have worked long and hard, it will be easier for them to get unemployment and businesses can save money.
OH OH....that's right , there is no more unemployment. The Republicans said it costs to much to feed and take care of you, after all, you only worked 40 years.
No unemployment = No money
No money = No home
No home = Homeless
We do not provide for the homeless. That is your problem. You shouldn't have been so lazy in the last 60 or 70 years. Then you wouldn't be homeless.
Homeless are not welcome in any town.
In other words... nice to have had you spend your life working and paying into the system,
Now, DIE.
